DHAN Foundation and L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) initiated discussions jointly after the first Consortium meeting held at LVPEI Campus on 6 th Mar 2018. Subsequently, Mr. Sada Siva (DHAN Foundation) had another round of discussions with Dr. G.N. Rao, Chairman, LVPEI on 15 th Mar 2018 and chalked out the detailed action plan for working on pilots in Madanapalle and Visakhapatnam.

 

1. One eye camp was organized at Malkajgiri, Hyderabad on 11 th April 2018.

2. Three health camps were organized at Visakhapatnam on 24 th March 2018, 6th April 2018 and 21st April 2018

 

Dr. Beula Christi, Head of Services, Institute for Vision Rehabilitation, L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) met with about 45 functionaries of DHAN Foundation promoted women Self Help groups (SHG) (Kalanjiam groups) on 24 th March 2018. She was accompanied by Mrs. Maha Lakshmi from the Institute for Vision Rehabilitation.

During the discussions with the SHG leaders, a decision to organize Eye camp in Malkajgiri for the SHG members was taken.

The LVPEI team organized an Eye health Camp on 11 th April 2018 at Indira Nehru Nagar, Malkajgiri. Around 100 members were screened for identifying different problems in eyes. Participants came from Indira Nehru Nagar, JLNS Nagar, Ekalavya Nagar and Vinakaya Nagar areas of Malkajgiri municipality. Detailed eye checkup were

done by two members of LVPEI.
