It is our privilege and pleasure to share that EHAC Trustee and Core Team Member Dr. Pavitra Mohan who is the  Founder of Basic Healthcare Services (BHS), has been selected as an Ashoka Fellow 2019 for his leadership, contribution and the impactful work  done with BHS towards the community at large. 


The Fellowship is a prestigious platform, the largest global network of social entrepreneurs, innovators and change makers of the society and involves a rigorous selection process. Dr Pavitra will be joining this global league of thought leaders and change makers in the journey ahead.


Dr Pavitra is a Pediatrician and carries several years of experience and expertise of leading the UNICEF India Country Office as the Senior Health Specialist. He has worked extensively in the field of newborn and child health, HR for health in India and was awarded Fellowship by National Neonatology Forum of India for his contribution in neonatal health. In 2012, he set up Basic Healthcare Services, a specialized not for profit organisation focusing on comprehensive primary healthcare for rural, under served population. In a span of 6 years, the organisation has designed and implemented solutions to improve access to equitable healthcare for the marginalized communities, by skilling and empowering health workforce from the rural communities in delivering high-quality primary healthcare and nutrition services.
