Early Detection & Prevention of Cancer in Women

August 12, 2022

There is a considerable stigma and sense of embarrassment associated with gender-related cancers. More often than not, the perception of the disease presents the biggest challenge in cancer treatment. As women’s cancers are associated with reproductive health and, in the case of breast cancer, with accepted ideals of feminine beauty, there is a greater sense of embarrassment associated with them.

Moreover, the majority of women with cancer never have the chance to join a support group and instead opt to keep their experiences private. In India, one woman dies from cervical cancer every eight minutes and one woman dies of breast cancer for every two women who receive a new diagnosis.

EHAC has organized a webinar on “Early Detection and Prevention of Cancer in Women” on 12 August from 7 PM to 8 PM IST to raise awareness around the need for staying vigilant about any warning signs your body gives, going for regular check-ups, and early cancer detection. A stitch in time saves nine!
